Unsuccessful Skills Assessment Outcome?

If you are unsuccessful in your skills assessment, don’t worry – you still have two options to move forward. Understanding the difference between these options will help you decide the best course of action.

Re-Assessment (Give it another shot)

A reassessment allows you to redo a particular stage of the assessment process that you did not meet.

Key Details

  • Apply within 12 months of your original assessment outcome.
  • It is strongly advised to request a reassessment only after addressing the issues or skill gaps mentioned in your Statement of Reasons.
  • Reassessment gives you an opportunity to demonstrate your competency in the areas where you previously fell short.

Review (Contest the Assessment Outcome)

If you disagree with the assessment outcome, you can request a review of your original application.

Key Details

  • Submit your request within 7 business days of receiving your outcome letter.
  • A review is based on the original application only – you cannot add new evidence.
  • The review fee is refundable only if your outcome is overturned solely based on the original application.
